Well this site is still open to the public anyone can create an account but am not really doing recruiting.
Setup one more site with the hosted by discourse free tier at:
Not much there yet. That new free tier requires discourse I.D. as only login option.
May close down this architecture site and my engineering one later this year if there isn’t much activity. They are both still on low-budget cloud servers but cost starts to add up over months/years.

That’s annoying automated filters.
When I mention about discourse sites to family/friends there is usually not a lot of interest. Main benefit to me of platform like this is to be able to have public conversation with greater visibility to outside perspectives, but a lot of people just want to talk one on one instead which can be ok.

There are some new plugins that can help. But most ppl are unaware of Discourse as it gets out of the way.
AMD, Nvidia, Blizzard, Western Digital and many more use Discourse. What is needed is to layout and design your interface
New plugins of interest add voice chat and video chat using P2P so no added server load.

Self Hosting really is not that scary as you can easily take steps to prevent downtime. Like server backups and discourse backups.
